So I mucked up. I kept putting off getting a front end alignment, and then I jsut plain old forgot about it. Checked my new 7.50-16's the other day and found the right front to be wearing badly on the outside. So I ordered up a new tire, and had the place I bought it from put it on. I was BS'ing with the manager (who's family used to have FSJ pickups) and for the heck of it I asked what a set of 33x10.5's would run me. He asked if I was interested in used tires. Long story short, he sold me a set of Mud King 33x12.5-15's with only about 5K miles on them for $150. They are dry rotted, but still runnable (sp). I'm going to toss them on my GW rims and run them for as long as they last. These tires are around $200 each new iirc. I'll get pics of them mounted later this weekend.
Funny thing, conversation between me and the manager (Ken) and then later the owner (Lenny), went like this
Me: "What's the best you can do on them?"
Ken: "Oh, I can't go ower then $150, if Lenny (the owner) was here he'd want $200".
So later as I was leaving, the owner came back.
Lenny: "So I hear we sold you some more tires?"
Me: "yep, I couldnt pass them up"
Lenny: (to manager): "So what did we get for them?"
Ken: "You don't want to know what I got for them"
Lenny: "Well, did you get $250 for them?"
Me: "Well I guess I'd better get going before he tells you!"
I know both of these guys a bit, and they are good guys. Most of the people that work there know, or have owned older Jeeps, some of tem FJS's.
