  • Colorado me Gone

One month yesterday, I pulled the plug on Colorado and moved back to SW FL after 21 years. I rented a 10' Uhaul truck and towed my FSJ on a dolly. My son in law flew out to help with the move. I am so grateful for the help. The ride went well but 5 days on the road kicked my butt. Literally. I found a good chiropractor and he has made great progress on me the last 2 weeks.

Driving my FSJ in town turned out to be somewhat a hassle with the many lanes of traffic on the main roads. Then the transfer case decided to go AWOL. Turns out 2wd is working OK but 4wd is hosed. I picked up a cheap crappbox to drive that gets much better gas mileage. When I can afford it, the Jeep will probably get another NP208. This thing is a little over built for down here where rocks are small and mud can be deep. I never was much for wheeling mud. It creates too much work cleaning out of the underside.

Congrats on the move. I am faced with a possible move soon. But I will need at least 12-15 trucks the size of your Uhaul. I wish I were kidding. Enjoy your new digs..

We're mid 60's and looking to move somewhere it snows from sunny So Kal. Not too much, though.

Sorry to see another jeeper leaving CO. It has gotten very liberal and "woke" around here. I priced out UHauls 6 months ago and the prices were crazy, over $5000 to rent just a 26' truck to go one way from NY to CO. That doesn't include gas, tolls or a trailer. Good luck in FL!

I'll make you a deal on a 208 if needed, I suddenly need to raise funds for a certain FSJ that has recently become available.
