front blinker assembly removal 76 chief

    front blinker assembly removal 76 chief

    i have the lenses out down to the bulb.can i pull the whole housing out from the front somehow?
    i dont see the clips on the side at all like the newer ones.
    i was hoping to do this easily without a lot of disassembly.

    It snaps in,

    There are two tabs, at each end.
    Use a screwdriver and CAREFULLY bend one side in and it should pull out.

    Just be careful not to break the tab off.

      from the back?
      i cant seem to see anyything with sheetmetal in the way.

        The tabs he is talking about are on each vertical side of the plastic housing accessed from the front, after you remove the plastic turn signal lens. they are very brittle in most cases.

        That is all that held them in from the factory.

          mine is not plastic.
          i see tabs on pix of the plastic ones.
          mine is potmetal and looks different

            early style have total pita metal clips that must be released from backside.

              i got it out.took 2 of us and had heavy metal clips that needed to be pushed in from the back while i pried from the front.
              the good news is that i got 2 1/2 inch wrenches and a 3/8 extension out of it!

                Sorry for my misinformation. I didn't realize metal housings were still being used into the mid 70's. Great news on some bits for the tool box.
