Nice find, sorry to hear about the t-case though. Someone should get those fiberglass fenders out of that junk yard. They are impossible to find.

No fooling. With what little we know of the numbers of this "Sport Side" or Step side, or whatever.
The only known info to me is that from 1980 to 1983, there were 1289 made.
The first run in 1980 had brows, the rest did not, but if this number is true, we are an elite group!
Our friend Mudd in France, is as close to an FSJ historian as I know, has commented on this fact, not confirming it, but agreeing that it is what he has read.

Thanks, even with a bad trans and transfer case I feel lucky and being a Texas truck the rust is not too bad. The engine starts right up, has a new radiator and fairly new Holly 2 V carb. All this for $650.00. Now to get some primer on her, decide what trans and transfer case to put back in and hit the road and trails.Originally posted by rstepI may not be good but I am good at it.

Here is a picture if the trans to transfer case adaptor.
Could of been out of alinement a bit and that is why the splines stripped off.I may not be good but I am good at it.
