  • How Can We Make This Site Better BJ's??

    OK!
IFSJ feels like it has finally died, and its not because of the old owners.
Instead of just complaining about this problem, can I offer maybe a suggestion???

I am more than willing to kick in some funds if need be to help pay for what ever software fixes this place needs.
Also I am sure there a few here that would likewise be willing to do the same??
Maybe sell a ""membership"" if you will, that would give some decals or some kind of special function??

We need to do something at this point.
While I have not always been to active here, I would love to see it continue on for future Full Size Jeepers.

BJ's I would LOVE to see you address the problems, and maybe offer some solutions as to how WE as a FSJ community can help you fix it???
(Ristow) fram....that deserves a ratchet upside the head.

I am 1000% in agreement! Maybe a BJs or IFSJA T-Shirt and one year membership for $100? I have talked to other folks (mostly via text and face to face) and many others have said they are willing to kick in, too. I feel like the user interface is much better now but the slow page loads, and spotty connectivity is frustrating a ton of other folks...

I am willing to help, but know nothing of programming or trouble shooting a site like this.
If someone else gives me a list of things to do, and how to do it, would gladly sit for hours knocking out the work.
Count me in where I can be utilized.

I too know nufink about about programming and such but this is one of the few sites I'd be willing to pay for a membership. Or I wouldn't mind seeing an ad on it. The other site now has a banner and I don't find it a problem. I even click on it occasionally.

Come to think of it this site had a banner for quite a while before it changed owners.

This thread got me wondering so I checked. Last activity of billyrb, one of the owners I believe, was 3/27. Seems odd.

            BJ's what about a raffle?
Get some of your vendors to get into the party, and give away some cool stuff?
Limited time shirts for SAVE IFSJA!
Get your vendors to advertise their stuff as banners, like SJTD said.

I mean there are a bunch of things that could be done to rally the troops so to speak.
            But like I said.
I am more than willing to give some money to help.

Please BJ's Offroad, don't let this place go away.
Right now it is on life support.

Does anyone have an idea what is causing the slow response?

I'd kick in some money as well to make this site healthy again. Bet an engineer could get it healthy in a day or two with funds we could raise.

This site is so slow, I typed this out last week and it's just now showing up here. All kidding aside, I'm in for some website donation. Sounds like they need a better server or something.

It is frustruating! We've been actively trying to fix it but I think the fix is to spend (more) money and have it hosted on vbulletins cloud servers. That way if there is an issue they can just fix it...

Sorry this has taken so long!!

I have no idea how much you get for it but I don't think anyone would object to you bringing back the banner ad.

Looks like vbulletin's cloud server is $30.00 a month for their most popular service.
