IIRC, what we did before (20+ years ago, TPIGuy era EFI) was slice out the donor wires from the rubber, the slide current wires in, black RTV'ing them to seal. LMK if you want me to send you one (I HATE the idea of someone running a raw leak to unfiltered air!)

Hey, I appreciate it, but I have a salvage yard near me I need to visit at some point. I recently moved to AZ and haven't yet had a chance to get out and about to see what treasures that new yard holds, but I'll snag a couple grommets when I can.

IMHO, I would think you could wipe the hole down with a very light layer of grease, then use hot glue in there to create your own. The problem with that grommet is you could have to cut the wires to install it.

Was thinking a razor blade to cut channels into each grommet hole, then slide the wires in that way, but I suppose I could just gasket-maker a solution too (as long as I did it in such a way as to avoid my plug getting sucked into the throttle body).

Only one wire marked "starter solenoid," their instructions say there should be two and no one at Howell gets back to me. "I" or "S" on the solenoid? Guess I'll play musical wiring if the don't get back or no one gets on here who's had this issue.

Hey, MysticRob, am continuing the journey with our resto; was scrolling thru both your build threads to compare notes & noticed I may be missing a spring on the throttle linkage for the transmission. Do you have a clear pic of how its hooked up?

I have my GW up and running, But i haven't finished putting the Interior back together. I can't figure out where the green wires that are part of the harness with the A/C fan wires go.

hey bristolf2b, am thinking the orange wire goes to the fan, and the green one goes to the thermistor - is the probe that’s stuck into the condenser fins.

dug & found a pic of the air box just pulled from our GW showing the thermistor connector

in the stock location; i'm using the threaded rod from an early 90's S-10 (which has an offset bent into it; & it's about 1 1/2" too long, so i've added a large nut to take up some of the slack.

Sorry, I haven't been getting email notifications for many months now.
My Howell kit came with a kinda S-shaped rod that screws into the TBI body, so just thread it in and adjust to where the stock air cleaner lid will fit it. As I recall, the rod isn't tight in the body, but once the wing nut is tightened down on the lid, it's all nice and snug.
