Bad a$$ work all the way around on your build. I see you have at least two in the driveway. If you are married, your wife will go straight to heaven for putting up with your Wagon sickness!!!!1978 Wagoneer

Thanks Dave. Yes, I love these old things. But after these are done, I won't do doing anymore. It's taking too much time away from family and I'm hurt a lot more than I used to. I hope I can finish the ones I have, keeping one for myself and letting the others go.

The cheap plastic trim on the outside has always bothered me. TGW and BJ's both sell the rain gutter trim now, but so far haven't found a good replacement for the tailgate window trim. TWG sells one, which I've tried, without success. It's not as wide as the original, and the chrome peeled from the bends pretty quickly.
So after polishing the old and even trying to cover it with chrome wrap, it still looked like crap. So I finally came up with one that looks better and it the correct width.
Here's the original that I was wanting to save.
Here it is after wrapping it. Couldn't get the wrinkles out of the bends. Put in on the Jeep in the garage out of the elements for a few days, and it peeled right off.

Worked on the front cabin carpet this weekend. I don't have finished pics yet, but here the back section of the front cabin. Still have to make the backing and replace the carpet on that riser going from the front to the cargo area, but it's coming along nicely. It takes a lot longer than just throwing in a carpet kit from ACC, but I think the final product is going to be worth it. I plan on making my own floor mats to go along with it. Just got to figure out how to do the "Jeep" emblem in them.

Is that still the Home Depot Carpet? How do you get it to "mold" around the trans tunnel? I am sooooooo gonna copy you! i have always loved the thick plush carpet that originally came in these and no one makes it like that anymore.79 Cherokee Chief (SOLD, goodbye old buddy) https://forums.ifsja.org/core/images/smilies/frown.png

Yep.
It ain't easy. A lot of going back and forth, test fitting, trimming, some sewing and a little steam.

This weekends progress. New rain gutter trim installed. Door scuff plates installed along with the seals. Tailgate body trim installed. Tailgate bushings and weatherstripping. The one that took the most time was the first door panel. Since I made them myself, I forgot to take into account the extra that was added when I did the carpet binding. So I got it on and the door wouldn’t shut. So I had to redo the bottom of the panels. That took some time to do, but it shuts now and it looks great I think. Looks like I’ll have to do the same to the other panels. Live and learn. Lol.
Sorry only one pic today.

Wondering what the plan is with the wood trim? Resto/reinstallation? Or replacement? Saw earlier you were removing the 3m tape; mine is in bad shape - looking at what to do?

Kingsport, TN? Not too far from me.
The plan is to reuse these pieces. They were in too good of a shape to not reuse. They're not scratched, faded or warped.
