  • A/C firewall block-off plate

I am in the process of installing a Vintage Air A/C system in my 1978 J10. After removing all of the OEM A/C-related stuff, I needed to fab a firewall block-off plate. I looked for a pre-made block-off plate for my purpose and really couldn't find a style that I liked. Somewhere out there in internet-land, this wheel has already been invented. I just couldn't find it.

If anyone who would like to have a copy of my template, you're welcome to it. PM me and I can email you a couple of pics of how it fits and what it looks like. After that, if you would like for me to send you a full-scale paper template, lemme know and I can mail a copy to you. This plate measures about 12" high and 19 1/2" wide.

In the past this forum and the ISFJA forum have helped me through lots of my FSJ woes. Maybe this is my time to give back.

Now I'm ready to put aftermarket A/C in the rest of my FSJ's!!

bet that new A/C is nice.

block off plate template would be nice to have for anyone doing that modification.

post a pic of your new A/C if possible.

Dave in NC. Sorry. Wish I could post a pic or two, cause I've got 'em. I'm kinda slow on how to post pics on this site. Pic size/ file size/ resize.....I'm not good with that stuff.

if I can use this site for posting on IFSJA,...anyone can

I lucked up and chose "postimages" site for trying my first photo post

        easy as pie, and free

        after you load the image

it gives you many choices under the photo,....

the one you want to choose is "hotlink for forum posting", ....YOU CLICK THE BLUE FOLDER IMAGE AT RIGHT OF LINK called Hotlink for forum posting
when you click that, it copies the link automatically to your computer....

then go to ifsja and after you type your message hit PASTE,...and that is it
the photo is on the site,....

or just paste the link in the reply or post area and yo are done.
postimages.org does all the sizing for you.

When you say A/C, are you talking the little oval hole under the heater box where the A/C lines go in or the whole heater box assembly, too?

That's awesome! I've always liked the red/white combo on classic trucks (mostly IH and Jeep), especially with fall foliage around it, or at least in the woods. Looks like trouble waiting to happen
