I have extra 12 volt batteries for the ham radio so I was going to haul one back there with me and remove the panel. Hopefully I can find the correct wires. I do have the wiring diagram so it should work. I doubt the motor is any good but I might get lucky. Of course it might take the entire Jeep club to pull me out by my hair after i crawl in there.

You may have to crawl over the back seat, removed the access panel, and put 12V and ground directly on the motor. If that does not work, you can reach up, pull the clips from the regulator and lower the window manually. It sucks but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

The motors are pretty reliable. Usually the regulator fails. The motor is right in the middle and the connector is easy to find. You got this.

I am still down for the count. Wife out of town. No help right now. But this info page I found on the 1970 was pretty cool. Thought I would share for all those Kaiser Jeep folks.

          Hub caps

I know, I know...these are not the right hub cap for a 1970. I agree. BUT, I couldn't find any replica wheels that were 8" wide and also couldn't find any stock wheels in any kind of decent shape. So I ordered a set of 15x8 replicas which take the red/blue caps. I will paint them the orange/gold as soon as I can find the correct colors. I also have emblems that need to be repainted.

These were really hard to find and seem to be very expensive. I sure won't leave Willow parked anywhere out of my sight. I suspect these would be gone in 60 seconds.....if you know what I mean.

Any good ideas on how to get the scratches/swirls out of these ?

We are back at it again. I got some help so we made some progress.

              Projects in the works:

              1) Electric choke installed. Working great. Thanks to Mike's Carb.

              2) New starter installed. All new wires.

              3) New alternator installed 150 amp from BJs.

              4) Rebuild 4 core radiator installed. A/C parts removed. Old fan installed due to lack of space to install electric fans. It is working for now.

              5) Rear window finally lowered manually as we could open it rear door. It appears the motor is bad. None found on the web. I have a tech question about replacing with the manually crank from 74 and newer. I would prefer the manual.

              6) All lights are working including the license plate light.

              7) New wheels 15x8 are now powder coated in white.

              8) Front seat was at upholstery company but I had to get it back due to broken springs. I guess the "expert" can't fix that. I had it welded and sand blasted. Hopefully some day it will be completed.

That black box is suppose to be a video of it running. Click on it maybe.
It sure sounds nice and smooth lately.

I don't have any doubt it is going to burn some oil, but first I need to get the correct oil in it and filter and do some plug checks and see where we are at. It really is smooth for all the abuse this poor girl had. I am liking it. Thanks for the comment.

                        11-19-21

Today was a day for finishing the door pin from the 3 hour ordeal we started yesterday. The problem with my driver door is sagging from worn out door hinge pins. So I found the Dorman part number from the forum and decided to fix it. 30 minutes tops, right ? NO, no no no, the old pin was NOT the correct pin and it was so stuck to the hinge that no amount of beating was going to move it. I Kroil oiled it. I heated it. I beat it.....I begged....I pleaded....and then I got the drill out and drilled the thing out. Ugh. What a mess and struggle. So the hard work is done, right ? No no no....lol. Now I have to figure out how to use the copper sleeves that came with the new pins. They are too big to fit inside of the hinge area. Do I drill out the holes so I have a wearable part now for future replacement. You know, like when I am 108 years old and changing door pins.......that was the right solution. Took our time, drilled out the hole. Placed the brass insert into it. Hammered it home, What a smooth door close. No lifting and closing. No more slamming. Just smooth easy push it closed.

The next adventure is the front seat. I found that my upholstery guy had a brother that drove a Jeep J truck. He didn't like the bench seat. so sometime around 2000, he took it out and put in buckets. The seat was sitting under the work bench in the shop since then. Well, today it was installed in the Wagoneer so I can test drive while I am working on things and the front seat is getting redone. Now I feel like I need to buy a J truck to put it in when I am done.....it fit perfectly.

The last piece that was worked on today is the gas tank. Bad sending unit in the main tank and it on order. So it is hanging down. The extra gas tank was not even connected so we removed it to make it easier to get under the cargo area and rust proof everything from the underneath side.

My brother is taking the motor for the rear window to Little Rock to get it rebuilt. He might even get it working. So my rear window is out right now. Amazing enough the bottom metal piece just has surface rust and will be wire brushed and rust encapsulater covered.

All new rubber needs to be ordered now that I have the tail gate down. There is another $500 or so...lol.

                        More coming.

I have to say the blessing of having a body that is not rusted off the frame is so enjoyable to work with. Here is a before picture with the loose rust removed. Ready for some Eastwood Rust Encapsulator.

It was a little chill this morning, so I had to fire up the rocket stove for some warmth.

There is something that is satisfying about rust encapsulator covering a Jeep.

That poor driver side fender well looks like prom night was kind of rough....

Some progress. If folks are wondering how many boxes it takes to do the cargo area of Dynamat, it is 1 and a half. About 14 sheets. That covers right to the back of the front seat. I just threw the carpet in to get the look. That project is probably something I need to hire out.

Thankfully school is out so I get lots of help these days. Yes, I am going to pull the seat belts before the carpet goes in. But I can't get under the Jeep and the helpers are strong enough.

By the way, always wear gloves, I forgot how sharp those edges are when you cut them.
