Do you have pix of the carpet trim piece that installs at the front edge of the cargo area platform? Noticed the screw holes while laying DynaMat & wondered; looked it up in the exploded parts diagram - ugh - another unicorn to track down.

As for the carpet trim piece you're describing, I have no clue what you mean there.Last edited by MysticRob; 10-26-2022, 07:00 PM.

Looks good!
I like a thicker wheel ....
Mine is leather wrapped now, I plan to have it redone, but make it thicker as well.

Holding onto the donor steering wheel has always been a chore and I've always wondered if it was originally leather wrapped like I thought it should be (no leather on it when I got it), so I got a nice wheel cover that thickens it up nicely and matches my desert tan color pretty well:

My coolant never remained clean until after I had my engine out of my truck, disassembled, and cleaned out the coolant passages with a pick AFTER the hot tank. The amount of crap in the passages is pretty amazing. Not all of it is because of lack of maintenance (although in my case, lack of maintenance DID contribute); I pulled out at least a pound or two of casting sand.
If you do drain it again, make sure you remove the block drain plugs and poke around in there with a screw driver while the coolant is coming out. You can knock of ton of crap out that way, too.

Ran another can of Berryman's engine flush and did another oil change, this time with Rotella T4 15W-40 and a new Wix filter. Discovered all my oil pan bolts (I'd never touched them) were pretty loose so tightened those up too. Maybe that'll solve an oil leak I have at the back.
I also ran about 60oz of water slowly thru the throttle body to steam clean the cylinders and pistons. It works better than stuff like Seafoam, which just creates a noxious cloud.
Took it for a long test drive and the old thing purs like a kitten again. Will get around to doing a compression and leakdown test at some point.

I'd put a new radiator and coolant in the beast before the 1,100 mile slog to southern AZ, but she ran a bit hot south of Las Vegas anyway. I'm sure it didn't help that I didn't have a fan shroud on it yet.
The coolant had become so nasty after the trip that it was mostly a dark rust colored, which tells me the previous owners likely didn't put anything besides water in the system for a long time.
I flushed the system again, put some good 50/50 green stuff in it, hosed out the overfill bottle, and ran it a few miles. Looks pretty good now.
Also got the new TGW fan shroud and warning decal, so put those on. Pretty snazzy:
