  • Now Rock Auto tells me they have discontinued those heads and I have the last one coming.

Guess I'll just quick dinking around and take one of mine to NAPA and get it done. Tried of screwing around.

    • So cleaned up the shop and sprayed High Build 2K primer on the front fenders and passenger door. That door was the one I had sprayed with color but so so disgusted with my body work I started over.

      • good progress.

i wish you were my neighbor,...

        i would learn something,

....and i could do some of the sanding
        to give you a rest.

        glad you are moving along.

            • Something about numerous "junker part trucks" and cloud of paint drifting around. I just don't understand their thinking

              • Shot color on the fenders and door yesterday again. After it flashed i saw all kinds of crap in the paint. Shop was clean so i just could not figure it out. Then I did a really good job of cleaning my gun. The crap was from stuff breaking loose and getting shot out in the paint flow. S**T

So with a silver felt tip I went back over my work and marked everything. Then--you guessed it- more sanding.

Things are now starting to look pretty good.

                so more of this

                  • Frank,

i dont know what that color is,... but i really like it.

all the work is paying off.

"DANG" is right,... that clear really makes it talk.

i would want to just sit back...
... and admire the results while it hangs to dry.

this is going to be a brand new truck all over again
...but even better than the first time.

                      • Here you go Frank. I took this from the 71 J 4000 outside while I was under the hood today. The wagoneer I am working on has an aluminum shim that matches the master cylinder mounting surface. It is between the master and booster. This Jtruck does not have one. Let me know if you need more.

                        Safe travels....

                            • No pictures today. Sorry too dang busy to take them.

I have been jeeping all over the SW (survived a hell of a rain storm in Yuma, AZ that made the desert wild with growth) and just got home a couple of days ago. 1st priority was to fix Stinger-my daily driver; aka Rock Crawler. It suffered some minor damage: leaking exhaust that fried wiring, and a starter that would only start after hitting the start key MANY times.

So all that is fixed and I am back on the truck. This is the boring part: sand blasting, acid soaking, hand sanding many small parts, like the entire heater system. But its ready for some Black Duplicolor over etching primer.

Bought Randy's 65 J2??? for parts and today used the hell out of the plasma torch cutting the rotten bed into 1,000 pieces to haul to the salvage yard.

Hauled the pickup and primered bed back into the shop with the threat of heavy rain and snow for the next several days. Maybe give me time to hammer the body of the bed straight enough for some paint and bed liner!!!

                              • Just got through your amazing 25 pages of build and travel! Really inspiring stuff, amazing to see how many different ways people on this site can accomplish the same thing. By that i mean we are all building rigs but have different approaches.

Awesome to see insights of your life and thank you for sharing and serving. Really cool to find out more about the Builder rather then just the Build.

You have taught me alot just by posting here, thanks Frank! Can't wait to see the finished product!
