  • candidate for Tremors clone

I noticed this one the other day and think if someone were looking to do a Tremors clone, this would be the perfect truck

Nice find! It appears to have a 287 or 327 Rambler engine. It would have had the 230 Tornado 6 from factory.

I think it's funny that a lot of old trucks that have been repainted long enough ago to have patina seem to have all been painted both red and blue at some time in their past. It actually makes for a very nice patina.

They do say it has a 327 Vigilante engine. Maybe they got the year wrong, maybe it's had an engine swap at some point, strange things tended to happen to trucks in the old days.

I think if I were in the market I'd definitely be bidding on this one and set it up close to the Tremors truck just because that would be a fun thing to do

It would be a fun Tremors truck. Yeah, it could easily be a 65. I missed the seller comment altogether.

If I recall right he's changed the description since it was first posted. I think when it was first posted he said it had been regularly driven but had sat for a few months and wasn't currently running. I guess he got it running.

What is up with that grill? It looks like a Mahindra Roxor grill.

It looks home made to me but if it is they did a damn fine job. If you look close it is mounted behind the original mounting tabs. If it was mine I'd have to go back to an original even though it has obviously been on the truck a very long time.

I agree 100% with what you just wrote. I bet the original grill got damaged and rather than spend what those grills sell for these days, he probably just made his own. Or cut that off another jeep.

That doesn't surprise me , have a look at eBay and other car and truck sides for how much the full-size jeeps and j-series trucks are advertised!

Overhere in Holland the jeeps are also a lot more expensive the last couple years
