yah,i use copper coat all the time on my fiber/cork gaskets. i like my head gaskets dry.

once this is fixed i can worry about the other issues with this motor that were imposed upon me by others before they bailed.

copper coat is a must on head gaskets IMO, all the boosted mustang guys (including myself) use it with great sucess, when i didn't use it is when i had problems.... its just cheap insurance and its holding fine on my 360

they closed. they had a good rep for a long time. towards the end it got pretty shoddy i come to find out.

i aint' just them. the idiot that spec'd the pistons really screwed it up,then told me it's my problem not his. i'll probably get the right ones.

i'm about back to square one. i have the heads, crank and rods.

like i said, left holding the bag at every turn.

it's the little voodoo. 64500. slightly hotter than a performer grind. i couldn't decide between it and the 64501,so i stuck with the old cam dilemma standby "when in doubt choose the smaller one".

starting with a fresh block. only the crank/rods and heads will be reused. in fact,i'd like a another 401 crank at std journal,so i could turn it fresh @ .010/.010 then nitride it.

re-decked the block, puttin' it back together as it is with a performer cam,and if i can find a set of stud mount rocker heads i'll use the roller tip rockers i have, and this one goes in the plow truck to be flogged in the woods. the GW will get another built the correct way.

I may be too far gone, but...

I think that's a good looking truck! Even with no brow.

lol! we'll see how hard it revs out pushing snow or hauling logs. think i'm going to put a mini spool in the front to help push snow.

i tore the flare off on the passenger side in the woods last year....

needs a flatbed anyways.
