1980, J20 Value Question...

I'm hoping some of you may be able to help me out with a question regarding a 1980, Jeep J20. Got a chance to buy a Jeep J20, has the 360 V8, 61,000 miles, manual transmission, body over all good, rusty passenger floor pan, rust through spot behind passenger door, no other visible rust. 4 wheel drive works well, transmission and clutch good, body ok, several dings and scrapes. What is a good price for this?

Thanks again.

Around here, any solid, good running, road worthy pick up is worth at least $2000. But with rust I would say around $1000.

He is asking $2500 firm, that includes a snow plow that he bought last year for it. I have no use for the snow plow.

In the rust belt, your value of a rusty rig is different than ours down south. You can sell the plow to off set the cost a little. How much to plows go for? We don't have those down here either.

Sounds like he's trying to get back his investment in the plow. Most plow trucks around here, especially something that old, are pretty beat up in the drivetrain unless it's only been a plow truck since last year. Ask him what he wants for it without the plow if he'll sell it like that. Otherwise, for $2500, it better look and run great.
