Hello everyone, have a quick question, I have been searching the forum but can't find the answer for sure. But how interchangeable are the AC boxes for J trucks? I have a handle on a 1973 J2000 w/360 with factory underdash AC and I have a 1969 J2000 w/B350 without AC. I already know that I will need to relocate the battery I have the senden mounts already for the buick, and I will a guy who makes custom A/c hoses , electrical connections will need to be made etc, etc. but I just wanted to be sure if the vents/box will physically fit without much hassle? Thanks forum!

It's pretty simple. The under dash unit is held in place by a flange along the front that screws to the underside of the front edge of the dash. There is a support strap on the back side that helps support it from the firewall.
The two hoses and clutch wire go through a hole in the firewall shared with the speedometer cable.
Power from the accessory or run side (doesn't much matter) of the ignition switch through an inline fuse to the A/C control switches.
Condensate drain hose goes down through the transmission tunnel.
Buicks normally mounted the A/C compressor way over beside the alternator and slightly down. That may create problems with your battery but obviously some Jeeps came with factory air conditioned 350's somehow without relocating the battery.'72 Jeep Wagoneer Custom, 360 V8
I love how arguements end as soon as Ristow comments. Ristow is right...again.

You realize that universal under dash units are not wildly expensive. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/v...1vhy/overview/ Not a lot of volume to cool in a J-truck cab. You are already getting the hoses made, and adapting a new compressor.Tim Reese
