Rusty Metal Prep and Topcoating - SprayMax 2K
I have had good success with Ospho and POR-15 but the POR is expensive and not easily topcoated, plus it dries up too quickly in the can. I have read quite a bit about Eastwood Rust Encapsulator and another primer called SprayMax 2k Epoxy primer
I am working on my door jambs and inside panels and it's surface rust, but deep in a few spots. My routine is sand, then ospho, then sand again, then ospho again. A final fine sanding will be followed by Rust Encapsulator, then after curing apply the epoxy primer. Then topcoated in body color, after curing.
Just curious if any of you folks have used the SprayMax 2K, or if you have another epoxy primer you have used with good results. Older posts here seem to support the Eastwood product.
