Govt 1988 Grand Wagoneer

Just picked up this 88 GW.. motor\trans\tc were pulled but unmolested and included in purchase\trade. PO was going to do a Cummins swap but lost interest. Claims it was a South Carolina Parks and Recs vehicle... no back seat, interesting overhead interior lights, alum door panels.

Anybody have any more info on a govt 88 GW? Flat green paint, some sort of bedliner on the interior floor, extremely clean under carriage.

Any ideas on what to do with it? Plop the 360 back in and hope\pray? Drivetrain swap? I have another 88 GW with a 5.3 Swap already and a non z-code 79 Chief with a 401 plus a few J trucks and Jeepsters.

I have a 1988 Wagoneer that belonged to Albuquerque dept. of water. It is a fleet vehicle ordered WITHOUT wood grain, power seats, power windows, carpeting and full time transfer case.

If you are no longer interested in this vehicle, I would encourage you to pass it along to someone that is.

Agency vehicles can have a wide range of different option and special equipment combinations. This era's VIN stickers carry a lot of information - check the '89 TSM on the Tom COllins site. Should have an order number that dealerships would have used to determine the equipment at delivery. Likely those records went in the dumpster long ago.
