The hit dog yelps first Pam. We were waiting for someone to bring this up so they could take the task.

Seriously, I have spun a few idears around on the computer the past couple weeks, never anything worth saving and have realized that I am not a computer graphics wizard by any stretch of the imagination. We have been spoiled by BethAnn's attention to giterdun the past 2 years and before that it was only the 2002 Invasion that had shirts.

I wonder if we could solicit someone from the forum to spin something up? Or - any volunteers?

Krista felt bad about no flags last year so I will try to help motivate that project this time around.

ok dagnabit... Maybe I needed a reboot.
I have something cooking. Give me a few days...

We have a tag line that someone here uses. It fits.

"if in doubt, go higher"

This year will be Krista and my 10th year going to Ouray with FSJs for the recon work in 2000 & 01, through the big invasion in 02 and up to now. 10 years riding above the treeline. Meeting new and old friends. Telling Jeep Lies. Holey Wow.

I have a nice XL Pink one that someone (else) will be getting...

Beth Anne has certainly spoiled us. But we let them bring a Ford. Hmmm

I fully endorse the "If in Doubt, Go Higher" logo for this year

The guy that did this drawing for me offers them up as t shirts.
They don't have to be the 'official' shirts for the year. In fact, they don't have a date on them.

http://www.cartoonsrwayne.com/store....on=show_detail

This shows his website but that is to order prints. You need to contact him to order tshirts. Info on tshirts is on his home page:

Thanks Mike. I forgot about that design. I am working with an artist and should be able to show some kind of proof by the end of the month.

A question I think I know the answer to:
Do we want to go full color like we have the past two years?

I probably won't be too open to a lot of changes so we do not end up against the wall for delivery. We'll see what I get first.

Thanks...

I have had some ups and downs with shirts in the past, but in general I enjoy taking care of it. Partly because I know that if I do it, I can get exactly what *I* want . I need to make doubly sure we are going to make it out this year, which I should know in the next couple weeks when I start my new job. The only possible issue would be if somebody else already has asked for that week off. If we are definitely going, I would be willing to do the shirts again. I would stick to the same deal as in the past, offering different styles and colors and the price range should be the same, unless we decide not to do a charitable donation this year. I personally think it is a nice way to give back, and everybody wins. I am open to other charities too, just don't know of any others in the area. Ouray mountain rescue seems to be the appropriate place to send our donations. People in the past have suggested doing something like cafepress, but I am resistant because I think a better deal can be had with a giant bulk order, plus you can get front and back logos and *in my opinion* more options in general. And I like supporting local economy. And it's fun to hand out shirts (people are happy to see me!!). I am NOT an artist though so I have to rely on somebody else for that.

Yay Beth Anne! Might I suggest more flame resistant sweatshirts though. I don't think Krista has forgiven me for burning a hole in her hoody 2 years ago

I think Phil and Flint need 'special' t-shirts made for them with "Official Ground Softness Inspector" on them...

Mine can say "Can Kill a Transfer Case in 2" of Water" just to be fair..

I resemble that remark Ryan. Wouldn't mind a pink shirt myself but don't plan to do anything special to earn it. I don't think you'll see me in to the agave this summer. I do not want to miss anything dangit!

BethAnne - thank you for sharing. Let's play this by ear until the end of the month. I won't have much time in April, but March looks pretty good. Might be good to get it going earlier. I am still open for the donation of proceeds to go to Ouray Mountain Rescue. May we never need to call them for help! I just checked their site and "we" are listed there for the 2007 Ouray FSJ Invasion. Last time I looked it was current through 2006.

So my new job is awesome, I love it so far and just about everyone is fun to work with. I might even be getting put in at a higher salary in the next month or so . I put in my leave request, will run it by the boss this week just to make sure nobody else has a request in already and I should be good to go. Flint, how are you doing as far as a design? Can't wait to get out west again. Jeep is awaiting (another) new power steering pump . Explorer is filled with axles that need to go underneath instead

hopefully we'll have a pretty fun 4x4 in the next couple of months! (edit): Also considering a new (tow) rig in the not so distant future...

"Wilde Place" is open for you again this year if you need/want it. Besides, since I can't make it this year, I want to see what you do to that Exploder!

This is taking some time. No worries yet.
I will be in touch with BethAnne once we have the design flushed out.

ok, ok - 1st time preview of the design! This image is still very much in draft. The trail will have FSJs on it and one at the top.

I think it is about a week away from being ready. The "committee" is not really taking any hints for changes since we don't have time to haggle on this so just trust the process.
