Found a Gladiator PU. What year is it? 2406F13812

I found an old Gladiator stepside pickup nearby. There is no paperwork of any kind for it and I can not figure out the year by the VIN. I looked at the VIN decoder on this site, but it is still not clear to me.
So, can someone tell me what year this is?
J200 4x4 pickup.
VIN 2406F 13812

Thanks,
Jeff

Yes, that is as far as I could get. I was thinking maybe there is a way to narrow it down to the exact year??

Joe,
Thanks for that info. Did you figure that out from the vin decoder here, or do you have a different source to get that info from?
Thanks again.
Jeff

Kaiser never put the year in the VIN. AMC started adding the model year to the VIN in 72.

The build date is on the motor, however, it needs to be decoded. I have seen the info, but don't have it.
Some of the guys on Willys Tech site would have that.
This is assuming that the motor has not been replaced.
The other way would be an old NADA book, which lists the model year and serial numbers based on sales data at that time.

I am still negotiating. There is no paperwork of any kind for the truck, so getting it on the road would be a problem. I know it can be done with a bonded title, but that is a pain to do. Trans or clutch is bad. Engine will turn by hand, but not currently running. I think the price is too high.
Did not have my camera when I went to look at it, so no photos yet. If I go look at it again, or actually buy it, I will get photos.
