interior chrome/tin foil

Has anyone ever attempted or does anyone have any idea how the chrome/tin foil on some of the interior panels (pic included) could be reapplied or restored? I know this might sound a bit anal but my panels are otherwise in perfect condition. It just looks like somebody transported an old christmas tree with a lot of tinsel on it...

There is a chrome tape that can be applied over the trim that will bring it back to life. Will be a bit of work and trial&error to get it to bend around curves etc... but it can be done.
