Project FL 2.

1990 FLA Freightliner.

bought this, and drove it home about 18 months ago,for the motor,12.7L detroit 60 series. decided its too decent to take apart so it's gonna be the #2 truck. i got a guy wants to run it for me.

400 detroit,9 speed o/d with 4/11's. airliner suspension. it's in better shape than the one i currently drive really. started getting it road readt this fall, till the snow came. i should have it ready and rolling in march or april.

ultimately it will get about a 60" stretch, 13 or 18 speed and a more modern back half, this truck had old school axles when it was spec'd out in '90.3073-3.90's would be a bit more road friendly.

Nice, those colors make it look like an old mail freight hauler.

I never paid much attention to tractors in my 43 years of life (other than to not let them squish me or my cars and not to cut them off). But in the last 6 months I watched several youtube video channels where they resurrected some 70's tractors and have a whole new respect. I hope you post more on your beast because it is AWESOME! Thanks for sharing!

these are the videos I watched. There are more in each one to watch it come together. You can kill hours watching these.

new fuel straps.

the drivers side tank was positioned back about a foot, compared to passenger side. dunno why but it looked really odd. i moved it back up even, and freightliner put the quarter fenders a good 8-10 inches in front of the forward axle, also dumb looking. i fixed both. had to quit early due to rain and mosquitos that day.

all the old holes have been welded in.

I love these threads Ristow, it reminds me of my younger days.

I'd love to find an old B model Mack after I unload some other vehicles.
