Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival

August 12-14 2011, Butler Pennsylvania

The Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival is a tribute event for the father of all jeeps, the history behind it, the people who created it, and it's birthplace, Butler, Pennsylvania.

Bantamjeepfestival.com

Anybody else planning on going to this event? It's a long drive for us, but since we can't make it to ECI this year we're thinking about doing this as an alternative. Looks like it's only $55 to register for the whole slate of activities. Passengers are $7 a day. Camping is an additional $20 per night.

The wife and kids and I will be there. We will not be sporting a FSJ since I don't have one that will make it that far and my trail rig only holds two so we are taking the new 4 door JK.

Show Update:
The Fabulous Thunderbirds are headlining the concert.

Not so fabulous without Jimmie Vaughan in the band, says I...

We were going to camp at the fairgrounds, but after careful deliberation, we'll be staying at the Hampton Inn instead. That's a lot less stuff to pack. I think we're going soft. If you're going to be staying at a hotel, I'd call soon. The fairfield inn was booked solid already.

I am also going to go, and take the 6 hour ride out from NJ, leaving early enough on Friday to make the parade. Anyone want to meet up along I-80 somewhere in PA sometime on Friday?

I am probably going in the Wagoneer now that the A/C is working. Anyone camping also?

I would really like to go to that show and meet up with you and caravan there. I made plans to take a group of local Soap Box Derby racers to a weekend long race in Dubois PA. Maybe next year...

That show will be bigger than York. They have advertised it very well. Get up with my buddy there his Jeep will be the gray Navy military one with the trailer.

Z&M Jeeps will be there as a vendor. Might as well keep the Saturday at 1 PM in the Air Conditioned tent tradition going. Set up should look very similar to PA Jeeps. Look for us on the Midway.

We're leaving Thursday evening and driving west until we quit for the night. Trying to avoid the heat of the day in case our A/C isn't fixed by then. I also think we'll be taking the southern route (PA turnpike) depending on construction and traffic.

My plans are somewhat set and will be driving the Wagoneer there with a trailer on Friday morning, and camping both days in it on site. In the camping registration form for club camping area request i put "IFSJA" so lets see if they know what that is or if I wind up next to a fellow IFSJAer or if it matters at all! I really think Butler and these festival organizers are about to be overwhelmed big time. They are no longer accepting registrations either, as of last friday it is sold out other than for spectators.

Anyone else camping or riding out let me know...Ill see you all at the Z&M tent if not before!
