1975 Cherokee Door Fitting

Is the a certain order to fitting the doors? As I see it, the doors move in every direction (up and down, in and out, side to side), but is there a certain order to make sure the door actually fits in the frame and latches? Currently, the drivers door won't latch because, just from looking at the placement of the door in relation to the body and latch mechanism, it sits too low. However, if we move the door up, it also changes the doors position in some other manner making it not fit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
