Sunroof gasket needed

I have an 85 GW with what appears to be a factory sunroof. PO removed gasket/seal to paint and now it is gone. Any pics of what it looks like or how to get a new one? Thanks.

Working with Steele Rubber to find a gasket. Any picture would be appreciated that shows dimensions and or profile. Thanks

If it is an ASC sunroof, call these guys http://www.sunroofdoctor.com/

I was told nobody makes a seal for mine any longer, but they could sell me 2 seals, and I could cut one and use both to make it work.

Nobody else I contacted was much help. YMMV especially if it a diff. brand sunroof.

Spoke to the sunroof doctor. Sent him some pictures and he recommended I call Jake Kelley in Michigan. He is the real sunroof DR. I emailed and spoke to him. He carries most all parts for the ACS sunroof including rubber, switches and computer brain. He actually can rebuild the blown boards. Anyway he has been doing it for about 50 years and knows all types of sunroof issues. Phone is 888-298-8140 or jakekelley@outlook.com Waiting on the gaskets to arrive. one for the front side and one for the rear of sunroof.

Got gaskets today. One is piece of foam 1 inch wide and about 1/2 thick. Looks like stick on door insulation that could not cost more that $5 at Home Depot. Would not appear to last long. Second piece has a metal flange with felt covered rubber. Obviously new from a roll but at least it will fill the gap. Has to be glued in. Was it worth $144? I thought I was getting oem or something close. Will try it and see how it works and will post some pictures. I am sure with a picture of mine you could find a supplier at 1/10th of the cost. So few parts for the sunroof I guess. Would like to weld in piece of metal and forget it.

X2
Pretty tired/annoyed with sunroof in mine.
Been watching/waiting for an SJ getting scrapped close enough that shipping isn't involved. It's that or pull it and install it correctly.

Hi PBG, curious to know how it turned out. I need seals for my 1989 ASC sunroof.

Gave up and welded section of roof from parts car in and added new headliner. You might try this fellow as he bought the old sunroof and has experience with them. h-terrazas@sbcglobal.net

I met a local sunroof repair guy that has been doing them for 30+ years. He knew his stuff and could fix/repair seemingly any setup.

I'd recommend picking up a phone book (if you still have one) or searching craigslist services or google for a local old school sunroof repair company and asking them.
