Early fuel sender ohms

Trying to get the fuel gauge on my 69 gladiator worked out. The truck has a new poly tank (with good grounds) and I got a new sending unit with the tank. Fuel gauge pegs out no matter what so I have it unplugged for now. I have tested the wire and ran a temporary new one from the cluster to the sender with no change.

Can anyone tell me what the resistance range the early gauge should be looking for?

Actually the above applies to pre 86 units not just pre 73.
