Definitely not Ferd... most likely aftermarket (there are a couple of Pioneer audio/gps units) if I come to my senses and farm this out or the Jeep "mygig" unit if I do it myself.

There was an ebay seller who claimed that he could supply everything needed (including detailed instructions) to make the MyGig unit work in my application.

The two issues I had were the $1,500 price tag and it sounded like the CAN system had the potential to cause a lot of grief.

I prefer the stock look on the MyGig unit and the Jeep logo would be a very minor bonus.

However, if the Mopar Underground couldn't make it work... I'm not even going to attempt it.

The dash is looking great! Good call on having AC vents for the back seats. My vintage air is not throwing enough cool air into the back seat for the kiddies, so now I'm redesigning to incorporate a second roof mounted AC in the back that blows into the back seat (may even be able to incorporate a rear defrost if I'm tricky).

I think with buckets and the console vents your passengers should be happy, but I just can't give up my front bench seat and it's **** hot here in the summer.

Every time I check on your trucks progress I'm reinvigorated to keep hacking away at mine.... Keep it up!

I hope you are a patient man... we are a long way from "done".

If I can sneak an hour in after work I'll see if I can get them on the rig... I'm nervous that I didn't test the hubcap fitment before paint and tires.

I think they should look freakin sweet with the dog dish hub caps!

As long as you have the later hub caps that were for a 15" wheel I think you should be fine, if not than ouch thats going to hurt . I ended up buying later ones for my J2000 running the old 16x6 wheels and had no idea they made 2 different sizes, so those ended up not fitting the wheels.

Funny you should mention that. I had the wheels custom made at Stockton Wheel Co. I've owned the dog dish hubcaps at least a year, probably closer to two. I measured the caps several times... they measure 10.25 inches in diameter. The guy at Stockton told me that was unusual, they are normally slightly larger (I have the email at work) but since they were being CUSTOM MADE they would use the OEM centers in the correct size to hold the caps and in the 16 x 8 wheel size I requested.

The wheels took twice as long to receive as originally quoted, but looked great when they arrived. I took them straight to paint and joked about bringing a hub cap by to double check... but got busy and didn't do it.

I took the painted wheels to the tire shop and they asked me if I had double checked the fitment... I joked that the backspace and lug pattern was correct, but I needed to bring a hubcap by to double check... but didn't.

Wheels fit the Jeep perfectly.

Hub caps aren't even close... looks like it would take a 12 inch dog dish to fit over the center.

Man, that stinks!

So are you going to run them and try to find some hubcaps that fit, or start over? How about a blacked out center cap and blacking out a set of those chrome trim rings? That might look really cool. Not sure if those rings are available for the 16" rims though.

I'll start with Stockton and see if they will manufacture the wheels I ordered. I was very specific with what I needed and it is very obvious I did not get it.

If that fails, we'll resort to Plan B... I just have no idea of what Plan B is at this point.
