...and now my hood is stuck shut.

The cable broke free of the plastic lever, I tried to get some vise grips on but the cable just broke some more.

I know i'll have to replace the whole cable, but I can't do that until I can open my hood. So guys, how do I jimmy open my hood?

Thanks
Cullen

go to the front of your vehicle look inside of the crack between the hood and the body. (closer to the drivers side) you will see a vertical bar and if you push on it. the hood will open. its very thin try to push it towards the top. it will open right up.
