I've looked at the tech forums and did a surch but found no one with my prob, i got the outer split ring off but the inner gear will not come out am i missing something

there is another ring on the outside. big like 4 inch. id point at it but dont know how..LOL
then you might have to put acouple of the small bolts back in, so you can hold them to pull the gear out

I pointed out the two ends of the snap ring you need to remove, it is visable in the Pic

ohhhh, that outer ring, thanks a lot guys, totaly forgot about that one, its been four years or so since i did this last and that was my first time.

Let me give you some tips on getting the spindle off- if you're going that far. Get a big flat-head screw-driver and a rubber or soft-blow hammer.
Pound the hell out of the spindle all the way around until you see enough of a crack to put the screw-driver in. Pound the screwdriver into the crack and then pound the spindle on the opposite side of the screwdriver. A bigger crack will open on the side you're pounding. Pull the screwdriver out and wedge it into that bigger crap and start pounding on the opposite side again. You will "walk" the spindle off this way. Don't give into the temptation to use the screwdriver as a pry-bar, you'll just snap the tip off.
