Where did you find your Jeep?

Since I am looking for a GW, I thought I would get input on where you found yours.

I have been tracking craigslist and ebay, but what other places have you found helpful?

When looking at a Jeep what are the critical items to review?

I found the ad on Craigslist, but the Jeep was at the local Toyota dealer.

There was one on a car lot in Newton, NC, a week or so back. I'll look again tomorrow, if you want.

I saw mine at a repair shop. Stopped and ask and was going over it for a lady to get it drive able. His estimate was $2800! I offered her my 95 Astro that I paid $800 for and had driven it for 3 years. She said OK. I drove the Jeep home! I have put 15000 miles on it in the last 2 years. Only about $500 in parts. Has been my DD since day one.

I bought both my Cherokee and Wagoneer in Wisconsin of all places.

The Cherokee was brought back from Italy and was titled in Florida, then made it's way to Wisconsin as a non-runner. So even though it was bought there, it'd never been driven through the salty roads.

The Wagoneer was in an accident in Colorado and brought to Wisconsin as a non-runner also. So very minimal rust on that one too.

Craigslist. Was in north Alabama, the guy that owned it posted on this site, but at the time I never knew about it. He was the one that told me about IFSJA.

Modified Craigslist search......found a website that you can do a Nationwide search on Craigslist. (instead of the time consuming way of each city)

Craigslist. Wasn't even looking for an FSJ nor was I interested really. Was just surfing around looking for spare 5.9 ZJ parts and happened upon it. I wouldnt of found it if the guy wouldnt of have put 5.9 in the title since I was searching for Jeep 5.9's.

Saw pics of it, thought hmmmm, I wouldnt mind to have one of those... Next day I went and looked at it and bought it...

Craigslist, it was only a couple of miles down the road from me.... I only wish I had known what I know now about FSJ's.

I found mine from cruising the for sale forum here. It was for sale and fairly local only 65 miles away. I drove down to look at it with a wad of cash and drove it home the same day.

You can easily do this with google, just do a search and put site:craigslist.org at the end and it will search all of criagslist.

I found mine on craigslist .
