79 cherokee chief turn signal parts

When putting the steering wheel back on I managed to mess up one of the rubber or plastic "thingies " under it that cancel the turn signals and now my left turn signal doesn't turn off . I don't know what these thing are called and haven't had any luck finding them. Does any know ? Thanks , Don Sterling

You can buy the whole assembly. Chevy part for the same year. Bought one a while back but don't remember the price. I don't think it was too much.

I doubt you'll find individual parts.

79 Cherokee chief turn signal parts

SJTD ,thanks for the reply but when you say you bought the whole assembly what exactly do you mean ? I don't need the turn signal switch .What I need are some rubber or plastic cushions that go under the steering wheel on the 79 Cherokee chief. They aren't used on a 73 wagoneer but I have no idea what other fsj's they might be used on . Don

Never mind - it's not a '73 but a '79. Erased prvious post.

The '79 has the GM column. The column is a commodity part bought from GM. Likely what you need is the same as what is used in a Chevy. The turn signal switch in the column comes as an assembly, not as individual parts. You could buy the whole assembly or go to a junkyard and see if you can get them from a GM car.

Dorman sells cancelling cams, if that's what you need. The 49300 might work for you. This is not meant to be individually replaceable, but Dorman makes quite a lot of such things. https://www.dormanproducts.com/gsearch.aspx?type=keyword&origin=keyword&q=cancell ing+cam
Any decent parts store can get Dorman stuff in a day or less.

Or post a picture, or go to the Tom Collins site and look up the drawing and Jeep PN/description for the part you need.

I used a GM GENUINE D6262D {19107008} from the link babywag just posted. Worked great. The wiring was 95% accurate but I had to make a change to mine (also a 79 Cherk) so when you pull yours out, verify them next to each other. I don't remember exactly what the difference was but it was something like swapping two wires...
