Horsepower TV AMC build next weekend (June 9&10)
http://www.powerblocktv.com/player/s...-04&ep_show=HP
They don't have the show here yet as it hasn't aired yet (although it should be available at the link above after it airs). But you can see all the parts they used. Here's what they've said about it so far:
"The 360 was AMC's unsung hero of power. In production for many years, they're an affordable foundation for a performance build. Our build comes loaded with valuable tech tips and money-saving shortcuts. It also comes with an impressive payoff in the horsepower department."
They've added a couple hundred HP and tons of torque to the other engines they've done. Hope they do at least that with all these goodies!

Awesome! I think the 360 is plenty stout. Thats why i chose to build my 360 for my Javelin over a 401.

This will be interesting... I hope that I learn something new!
Please keep us posted. I live in the sticks and don't have access to those programs.
Thanks!

I saw the teaser when I was watching the show last week. My wife was trying to have a conversation with me so I was paying half attention. I had to rewind it and watch it again to make sure I wasnt hallucinating.

HPTV made 470 @ 7000rpm, no good for a jeep. Solid cam, single plane intake. Real good power though. I was impressed. Wish I had money to put together a good torque motor for mine.

And yet the guy on the show said he wanted to put it in a rockcrawler or offroad vehicle
seemed like it was too high strung for anything but a drag strip.

What do you expect? They put a turbo in their blog buggy and called it a great rock crawler.
They do have some interesting tech on those shows but you have to remember that they're not much more than 30 minute commercials for their sponsors. Sure, the oiling mod, the cam button mod, chamfering the crank oiling holes, etc. was all good and useful tech info. But in the end, they were advertising a lot of Edelbrock parts and they have to be enthusiastic about it when they give the sales pitch.

Agreed. I think for most us, an honest 300HP torque motor should do us good. Nothing crazy. Considering we are starting off with 185HP more or less from a stock motor. My 360 is in my sig and I think I may be a bit under carb'd but I do love the way it pulls and seems to make pretty good low end power. Although I do love the 5.4 in my work van.

Cool vid but they really glossed over the whole timing set/oil to dizzy set issue with the Comp stuff. Neat stuff but it boils down to compression ratio and cam choice. You tayler the intake and system around that. The AMC 360 is a great base line to start with.
