Taurus fan Q's *another added!!!!

So i picked up a 2 speed elec fan from a 3.8l taurus the other day...for now id like to run it with the stock alt. Will it be ok if i only run it on the low speed setting for the time being? I have no other elec acc right now, except an elec fuel pump that draws ~4amps and the stock radio. O and high pulls 33 amps constant...

O and how do i find out what amp alt came on the truck stock?

My bud has been running one in his AMC eagle since he swapped in the 360 he took out of the J10 he sold me, with no problems. His alternator is stock as far as I know, and he runs his fan on high all the time.

I'm running a Volvo fan on my GW. I have it set on the high speed. Maybe the Volvo fan draws more amps than the Taurus fan but I'm installing a 150 amp CS144 this week so my headlights and turn signals still work when the truck is hot.

And yet another question...it physically wont fit. I have 4.5" between the radiator and bolts on the fan pulley, while i need 5.5" for the elec fan. I thought more people were running this fan too...

So my options are:
Trim the shroud (can only take out 1/2")
Water pump with short snout and shallow pulley? (gives me .75" to 1" extra)

HELP!!!
