But is it for sale or the guy that posted the pics just wanted to share the cool story of it?

230 + 4speed + dually + thriftside + factory Ramsey PTO winch.

What more could you want crom a truck!? It's perfect!

In excelent shape as well, considering how old it is and the hard life it lived. It appears to be fairly well optioned.

It is not a single rear wheel model that had dually adapters and wide fenders slapped on to mimic a dually, it is an actual factory dually. Model 3406D on the door tag, 8600 GVRW. It was probably ordered from the factory as a J300 dually chassis-cab and the bed was ordered seperately, modified for wider fenders, and then fitted to the bare chassis. Duallys were only avalible from the factory as chassis-cab, flatbed, or platform stake, no cargo box options were avalible. Since it is a factory dually chassis, the bed had to be added on later.

In any case, it is a 100% real Jeep dually chassis and cab with the bed from a 7000 GVW single rear wheel model fited to it. Still counts as a real dually in my book, not a copy. Payload on that beast should be about 2 tons, it can basically carry its own weight. Just look at the thickness of that rear leaf spring pack! Axle ratios should be 4.88 or 5.89, in any case, don't expect to go over 55 MPH, but it should sure pull like crazy up to that speed, especially in low range. :O

It is the 104th 3406D (J300, 4x4, 8600 GVW) made. They only built about 620 of them, so your is pretty early in the production run.

I love how arguements end as soon as Ristow comments. Ristow is right...again.

That may just take first place as my most favorite J-Truck that I have ever seen.

Hope he is able to restore it to its former glory.
