i have a painter working on my 82 j10. he is trying to remove the bed from the frame. their is a bed anchor bolt near each wheel well that he says that he can not remove. he can not find where to get to the head. could this bolt be just an alignment pin that the bed rests on or is there a plate that comes off the bed to access the head? any ideas?

I think I am following your question. I installed an 80 bed on my 77 chassis. Have you seen the caps in the bed? They are about an 1 1/2" in diameter. There are four. Pry them up with a screwdriver and you should see the heads to the bolts.
