They sort of all work together but like above, I didn't really consider tires and wheels as being that valuable until the rest was doing it's stuff.

Wow like most, it is a combination of things...But I can rank in importance.

1: Winch, most problems can be over come with a winch
2: Lift, wheels and tires
3: Bumpers and rocker gaurds
4: Chromolly/HD hubs, axles, running gear
5: Spare parts

Man... and a million other things that make life easier off road, cb's, tow straps, tree savers, d-rings, lights, larger fuel tank, first aid kit, cold weather clothes on and on and on....

When you start with open 2.72 gears, lower gears and a locker is like taking a quantum leap in ability.

Best Modification

Going to Propane.

Of course I had done a bunch of modifications and the propane made the motor respond like I wanted...all the carbs I tried just did not work like expected.

Every modification is the best at the time I do it, lockers, lift, 1 ton axles, bigger tires, Hydraulic steering, Roll cage, transfer case swap and under drive. It's a growing process, I started with a rig that was someone's custom order, 3.73 gearing, 208 transfer case, bare esentials interior, Limited slip rear diff, off road suspension package...I built from there.

Diesel swap is not on your list. Followed closely by the hydroboost.

I voted lift I am runnnig a spring over front with BJ's 1" shackles and 6" springs in the back with 2" blocks and a 3" body lift.
But I think my favorite mod is my T Case I have a 203/205 doubler and I have a lomax kit in the 205.

the 44" bogger/ TSL combos are cool too.

I said lockers for the best mod because it really brings the rest of the mods together. Then it would be tires, lift, and a winch.

I\'ve seen gsmikie\'s video for the TH400 and thought it was just awful.watching a guy tear down a greasy pile of metal in a junkyard. it dosent have to be surrounded by water to be an island

Don't know yet, I'm doing a lot at one time. From before:

1) Lift
2) Tire
3) 360 upgrades to turn the tires
4) LSD in rear

Sucked with out brakes. Now adding:
1) Hydroboost and rear discs
2) 401
3) Fuel injection
4) 3/4 ton axles w/ 3.73s and hopefully e-lockers
5) T400/quadratrac (mostly since I want a good winter vehicle)
6) Bumpers w/ winch and tire carriers
7) Rancho RS9000 w/ remote switch

If I could only do one thing it would have to be a locker, a front locker. But since there was no way I could stop at that I now have a 6" lift, 12,000lb hydro winch, mini spool in the front, rebuilt trash-lok in the back, 360 with go fast goodies, street and strip clutch, and soon to be 35" tires. All that and I still haven't put it on the road

I dont have it in my J10 yet but lockers are the single best. However, I always start with the lift and tires then other small items then when funds are available I do the gears and lockers.

46x22 ag tires flotation is the king in my area and with the 38s I went nowhere.
