What is this by my Q-trac actuator?

What is the cap thingy on the Q-trac by the actuator, it's loose and spins freely but doesn't unscrew or anything, it's not on the parts diagram and I'm at a loss, any ideas?

E-Drive engage switch! When you put your rig in E-Drive, the vacuum motor pushes a rod toward the front of your truck and it closes that switch and lights the E-Drive light on your dash.

Not the thing with the wire attached, the silver column shaped thing between the e-drive engage switch

Yep.
73-78 QuadraTracs had a vent cap as yours does and 79 had a nipple there for a vent line to go up to the firewall.

Defiantly a vent. I like to install thread nipples and run a hose up to engine compartment.
