I would. I can't believe the prices I am starting to see on CL. I am just eager as heck to have mine back. 14 years now down... I hold my head in shame.

Did you say 14? As in one, four?
I don't feel so bad now, thanks

We'll all resume feeling bad once Kaiserjeeps pulls his rig out of the garage and has done a bolt for bolt resto on it like he's doing on Sadie.

If all goes well, we can toast to accidental successes.

I'm convinced I'm just too dumb to know that I can't restore this old truck...

14 loooooong years. It was sweet running, I had just converted a 79 dana 44 to five lug and got it in. I had a couple thousand miles on a narrowed five lug dana 60. I wanted to fix the rust. I was a really heavy drinker (fifth of vodka a day) and my marriage was failing. I got divorced, bought every NOS part I could find for another 5-6 years and shelved them. Got sober, remarried, moved too many times all the while dragging my poor old 1414X along for the ride. I will do it next. Sadie has got me all excited to see mine like that.
Hopefully none of us will die from old age before that happens.
My wife said she would love to drive one for a daily driver. I love that woman.

Kaiserjeeps, count me among those who are extremely happy that you're where you're at now. Many kudos to you for making the changes you needed to make. Alcohol has some pretty nasty claws that it hooks into some people, I've walked down a pretty dark road or two in my life as well. Keep on doin you, man!

66stepside, where's the best place to buy a quart of the amber poly? Do you have a color code that I could bring to my local auto paint place? I was toying with the idea of doing the fawn color that they did Chevy truck interiors in in the 60's, but amber poly just seems so much more FSJ.

I have the paint code for Amber Poly, I'll dig out the pics from the 62Thriftside Father/son project.

I ended up upgrading the distributor with one off a 79 AMC Concord at the wrecking yard. It had the magnetic pickup and with a Chevy 4 pin HEI add on, it works great. Much smoother all the way around.

The points/condeser set up were fine- but the vacuum advance on the old distributor wasn't working properly. After looking for a stock set up on the Rambler forums, I came up empty. I was on the verge of aftermarket HEI purchase when I found a stock AMC Concord with a distributor at PNS. So 22.00 later, she purrs all the way through the RPMs.

The brakes are done- what a PITA. The wheel cylinders are apparently obsolete in this area, but after considerable checking, double checking and triple checking, the rear jeep ones match up to 1971 Ford F-150, and the front jeep ones match up to 1968 Ford Mustang. Ugh. Just Everyone Else's Parts is right.

Here a compilation video of her beasting it in the recent snow. I saw an old Willys wagon out today but did not get it in any of the video shots. Bummer.

I snagged a flatbed trailer last week. After clearing the snow berm by the fence, I stashed her there. Ran the lights, put on the plate, so she can get parked out on the street without a hassle.

It's 19' but will get bob'd to somewhere near 15' when it's all said and done. I've outgrown the truckbed trailer, so it'll get sold off to fund this multipurpose trailer build.

I took a vacation day to forage deep into North Idaho- nearly 2 hours one way- for a Ramsey Winch Bumper Combo.

It snowed all the way there.

35 minutes to unbolt it from the truck.

It's either an 8000, or 12000 Winch, or so I think. But since the cases of those two winches are the same dimensions, I'll probably never know. If anyone is an authority on Ramsey Winches and knows for sure what type it is, let me know. Maybe there's something stamped somewhere I did not find that can help ID it for sure? I can't wait to install it on the Wagoneer.

From the other Ramsey tags I've seen, it looks like you can make out an 800 where the model would typically be found. Safe bet, I guess would be to assume it's an 800 rather than over load one because you thought it might be a 1200.

And you didn't stop in. Kidding there as I know how those days go.
What a score. That 66 sure is turning to be a good find.

Bout time for a visit and a cup of coffee soon.

Thanks guys, I think I have an addiction to winches.

Kaiser, I was on the southern end of lake CDA, about an hour south of it actually. If I was in your neck of the woods, I'd stop by for sure- and I'd bring my own bib to catch my drool.

I finally had to pull the trigger and step up for a concrete floor. 8+ yards of back fill, 82 pieces of 3/8 rebar all tied together and reinforments where the 4 post lift might go one day. Form is in for the front edge; it "only" took me a week to get it done and I'm ready for the cement crew tomorrow.

I'm stoked!

Wooooow!!! You have done a lot. Mostly vacating the place. You are going to love it when it is done. Geez, where did you put everything?

Be sure and thank the concrete guys for splattering all your walls ahead of time.

Waiting for your call. Let me know.

A lot of work- 3 weeks of it! I bought a 20' tandem axle trailer with electric brakes and put 15' box van body on it. Somewhere in my signature is tbe full story, haha.
Here's the 66 pulling it:

90% is in there, the benches are in the regular garage. But, it's finished. He'll come back in the AM to score it into 4 sections and it's cure time. I'm on Spring Break, so I've got nothing but time. I am super stoked.
