btw the truck already has a 2" body lift.
i had done some measuring from stock springs to my lift springs.there was only 2" diffrence between them. stock and sua was 9" from frame to top of spring.my lift springs and soa were 11" frame-top of spring.probably from years of abuse maybe?

Sounds like an awesome project and I'm excited to see it. My 68 had 38" swampers with stock springs and a 3" body lift with plenty of room in the wheel wells. I dropped down to 35s for better road handling. Should be fairly easy to stuff some 44s under there with some lift springs.

My Chop-top has 1 inch body lift (put in to clear the transfercase), plus SOA and 2 inch springs and partial cutting of the flares. The 40's have never rubbed. Oh, I also moved the axle forward like 1 inch, which really helps. I think I could fit 44's in there with either more cutting or slightly taller springs.
