Oil Pressure Wiring Issue

Seems I have some wiring issues. The sending unit has the single wire, which to my understanding should go straight to the gauge on the dash. It doesn't , it loops about two feet of wire and connects to one of the leads on the switch. I've highlighted in blue below:

Where should the two leads from the switch connect?

oljeep.com has wiring diagrams.

The oil sending unit wire should go inside to oil pressure gauge.

The oil pressure switch wiring is for electric choke power, carb solenoid, and carb vent solenoid, has nothing to do with sending unit(gauge) wiring.

The oil pressure wire should be purple/violet and as stated already goes to the dash.

In my rigs the switch gets 12 volts (switched) from the main harness and sends it out to the choke. Red wire with white line on mine.
