PAGING 78WideTrak

PAGING 78WideTrak . . .

I tried to send you a text today, but didn't get a response back. I bought a maroon/red tilt column from you and have a couple questions for ya. Most important one is what year is it? I'm having some difficulty getting it to work in my '74 J10.

Thank in advance

Yes, I do mean that member. I bought a tilt column from him about 6 months ago. I just sent him a PM and I'm not one to leave any stone unturned if I can help it.

The wiring harness connectors on the tilt are not compatible with the harness in my '74 J10. Most probable solution is to get my hands on the truck side of the tilt harness and use it to make an adapter to work with my '74. Problem is that I have no recollection of what year the column is nor have I been able to find info on it.

I put a 79 column in my 73 don't recall anything that made it difficult.

Get the wiring diagrams compare the wire locations & connectors and swap things around if needed.
99% of wiring connectors can be disassembled and usually not hard.

It's easier said than done for some of us. I've tried reading schematics/diagrams and would fair better trying to pee in a corner in a round room. I'm more visual and it takes me a bit to learn the technical. As mentioned before about finding the other side of the harness I figured on having to disassemble them and make the adapter. The time factor is messing with me so hopefully the figuring is sooner than later.

Nothing more visual than a picture?
Right on the actual connector it is labeled with small letters and the diagram tells you which letter/wire does what function.
Far as what column you have probably not hard to figure out if you post pics.
