I have a 258 out of a 76 Wag and I want to put it in a 76 chief with a 400 trans. Will it bolt up and if it does what will I need to change. The six is just for now until I can find another 360 that is near where I live. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Brad

6 and V8 have the same bolt pattern, but 6 and v8 flex plates are balanced differently so you need the 6 cyl flex plate. Also will have to lengthen front driveshaft and shorten rear shaft, and make minor mods to shift linkage since trans moves back six inches or so. Crossmember has two sets of bolt holes to chose from, so it just needs to be repositioned. Seems like some changes in emergency brake cables too, and oh yeah motor mount towers, easy if you have a donor rig, PITA otherwise
