Where to find Weather Stripping for FSJ 1970

I am new to the club and am looking for ideas for weather stripping out here in OC, CA. My 1970 Wagoneer was repainted and the old stripping never made it. Its goes around the door and not around the body? Help.

My 69 has the seal on the door, tried the seal on the body, no go. Went to salvage yard to find options. Found an issuzu trooper that sealed the same way, seal looked identical, only difference was the push pin spacing. Really was'nt a big deal to move them, pulled them out and put them were they needed to be. The trooper has big doors so there was plenty to work with. The other thing the trooper had was perfect style grab handles, grabed all 4 of them, put one on the dash and one above door on pass. side.

If you want used ones, usually the yards are your best bet. Even if the seals are shot along the floor you can grab a few extra and just piece them together. I have done that and had nice results. Most of them are busted along the floor where people drag their feet in and out. There is already one seem here, so I just cut a piece from the top or side of an extra seal and then just cut/paste with current seal to make one nice seal. The sill plate should hold the rubber in. You can use sealer/glue also.

You can also by OEM ones from BJ's for a good amount of cash. Or the reproductions from BJ's, Team Grandwagoneers, JC Whitney, etc. The reproductions don't have the 90 of 45 cuts, but they still work pretty well.

Welcome from the OC!

THX btpdragon, I tried the BJ's repros, had to return them cus they were for the body and not the door. there is a guy in OK. who has some but gave them a 2-3 out of 10. Not sure if crumbly old weather seals are the way to go. How do you choose the right one on the JC Whitney website?

I've managed to find a couple of NOS 62-72 door seals.

Send me a PM on what U think they are worth.
Warning....They are pricey!

They are so hard to find, that should only really be used on an origional survivor or nice restoration.

Might be able to find something here that works.

http://www.mcmaster.com/#rubber-bulb-seals/=bzoioj

Some of the edge grip stuff looks similar.

Not familiar with the size/shape of the seals on the doors instead of body.
