Just got in a while ago. Was doing record time (for the Cat) until I ran into fuel delivery issues again (bothered me all week) just after albuquerque. Put in the electrical pump and found out that one is dead too! good thing I bought a new mechanical pump in Cortez on the way up. Changin a fuel pump in the desert sucks , got back on the road and ran perfectly. Overall a good week for the Cat, considering it had been sitting for the last 8 months! Got a new fuel pump, new axle shafts , fixed oil leaks and the AC is cold

Still roaming the Rockies but on the front range. Central Utah is beautiful. I cut across from Ridgeway,CO to LaSal,UT then up through Moab and on through Price and into Provo,UT. Was going to KOA it here but lots of big nasty storm clouds dumping lots of rain around the area, so I'm camping in room 106 at the Comfort Inn right next to Krispy Kreme donut shop and not a bear in sight . It doesn't get any better than this.

Had an absolute blast last week and got to meet tons of new Jeepers and their family and pets. Phil's petting zoo was the best, who could resist those little critters.
A big thanks to Pam and Allen for letting me be a fifth wheel at the KOA . Still craving more of that NE corn. Maybe the Krispy Kremes will make me forget it for a while.

Decided to spend a day or two in Roswell and Carlsbad. Plan on getting into San Antonio late on the 23rd. So far no problems.

Made it home just fine around 11pm on the 23rd.

Great meeting You, Colin and Cosmo.

We got home to TX around 3:30am on Sunday morning.
Making for a 17 hour drive straight.
Long hot trip however well worth it for the week in Ouray.

We made the WHOLE two hour drive with no problems.
Was so cool to see so many FSJ's there this year, can't believe some of you drove them so far, both ways, and for most part had little problem doing so.
Will not be FSJ-less next year, missed doing the trails even tho it would have killed my back.

Idaho is way better than Utah. Absolutely beautiful. I followed a pioneer trail today. I have long ago family members who did this trail with their oxen and a wagon back in the mid 1800's. Kind of humbling to finally see what they went through going to Oregon. One of my relatives wrote down their account long ago before she died. She was a young girl when they made the trip. They went to Oregon then returned to Oklahoma a couple of years later.

Got to watch some eagles hunt fish in the Snake River at Soda Springs,ID. Saw a huge double rainbow that lasted for 30 minutes or so. You could see both ends which is a first for me.

I stopped for the night in Alpine, Wyoming, just across the border from Idaho. Didn't want to miss any of the incredible scenery. I'll swing through the Grand Tetons tomorrow and most likely stop in Yellowstone for a night or so. Haven't been there since the big fire in 87 or 88.

Just pulled into home about an hour ago. Made a 2 day layover in the White Mountains for a little decompression. Didn't want to rush back into the world

We just walked in the door... Then remembered we had set the AC way up to save electricity while we were gone. We're not happy with past-us right now!

It was great meeting everyone, thanks for helping make it a great vacation!!

We'll be posting our pictures and trip stats in the "Headed West..." thread we started.

I for one appreciate folks checking in. It is always good to know that friends and even new friends got home OK from Ouray. We have not heard from Tinman. Looks like HOOT is on a walk about. Anyone else?

I appreciate it too Flint! I'm glad that Martin started this thread. I'm also glad that Tom is on a walk about, he kinda stuck me as needed one when we met. Go HOOT!
