I'm nearing the end of the installation of an analog Holley EFI system. I've got most of it figured out, but my instructions are rather vague on where I should connect a couple of wires.
Situation: 86 GW, TFI upgrade in place already.
1. The white tach pickup wire: does this go to the negative side of the TFI coil? The aged manual isn't very clear. On the one hand it says to install it on the negative terminal, on the other it says to *not* connect anything to the terminals of a capacitive discharge ignition (which the Duraspark appears to be).
2. The red main power lead/relay setup: Do you connect this to the red wire on the Duraspark box, as the instructions imply, or do you just tie the relay to switched power?
Pictures would be appreciated. I'm hoping to get this thing reassembled and started tonight, it's really starting to irritate me because it's been apart for the better part of a month and I need to give the space up. Any assistance would be appreciated.

White wire to the green wire on the coil, this is for the tach signal. It will not work going to the negative wire, yellow...
Red wire to relay goes to 12v source, then the other side of the relay goes to a 12v switched source. The full instructions are on Holleys website. Or just call me. Sounds like you are almost there.
What did you do with the pink wire???? My instructions were wrong.

Power went out in the garage, so I had to knock off for the night. I'll call you in the AM when I get back to it. I'm working on the thing in Coppell, btw.

I am up and around give me a ring, I am just south of grapevine/colleyville so I am not too far, I have nothing major going on today, I can spare a couple of hours. I downloaded Holleys instructions to my laptop to be safe. I can bring them with me, but I remember most of it in my head.

Sounds like you guys have it handled, but I should be around today in case you want me to look at anything on mine.

Nope, I had a weird power problem - 12V on one side of the rig, 5V at the relays. I'm still trying to figure that one out. I know it's not resistance wire.....

This does not make sense Spectre. Since you power up the relay with battery voltage and 12v swictched......obviously something is not right. Call me tonight if you end up looking at it.
What did you use for the 12v switched side of the relays????

I tapped into the appropriate wire on the solenoid.
What I'm getting is 12V into the relay and 5V out.

So you have 5v out to the ecu? Try swapping in another relay.

Yeah, I bypassed the relays entirely, ran 12V to the computer. Nothing. The ECU *is* tripping the fast idle solenoid and I have the TPS adjusted correctly, but it's not firing the injectors. Any ideas on how to get those to fire or check them?
