Solve the wife's argument please
Hi all... I haven't yet posted in the Introduce forum section, so sorry about that. I'll get to it. I'll be posting our 1976 J10 restore very soon. We've been working on it for a few months and by "we" I mean, myself, my 19yo son and my wife (who just finished auto-body school )
The disagreement (and for sake of not taking sides) I'm not going to say who is thinking what.
Truck color: original it is Sand Tan
Possible color: Nardo Grey with black trim
If we keep it Sand Tan do we leave the original silver trim (they are the thin body trim pieces, not the larger trim in new models.
Inputs and comments are needed and welcomed.
Thanks All
Dave (8JeepOwner)

Soooooo.... in my house, if the wife makes a recommendation, 95% of the time I take it; especially on something like this. You want her to enjoy it as much as you do and sometimes that means compromising on something like this. There is no right or wrong because you are the ones looking at it.

ha, ha, that is why I got rid of the wife....
but the rule is: be right or be happy... I would strongly follow rang's opinion...
otherwise the gf has her cars, and she deals with them the way she wants... at least I can do diagnostics...

This one's easy... whatever the wife wants. Once you include her in the choice, it's over!! Plus, if she gets to pick the color, she'll be less likely to balk at all the other money you'll want to spend on the thing for the stuff YOU really want!

All our trucks are green, ("company" color), so there was not even a conversation. She did mull over the graphics choices with me...sorta...

This is an older post, but I really like the Toyota quicksand 4v6.
I will be using it on my primary sportside.

Being in FL I'd go with the tan due to the summer temps. A black truck is hot!

I'm not a big fan of sand tan exterior paint, but that nardo grey color looks pretty cool on google searches.

I would pick Nardo grey with the silver trim back on (you could always do a black accent panel down the side where the thin woodgrain used to be.
Jpcoutts has a great point though for the tan-my old black XJ used to get really warm in the Florida sun when I lived down there.
Good luck!

The thin trim makes a good divider for two-color paint, as I recall. I would paint it white above and Sand Tan below. or paint it all Sand Tan. Sand Tan is a great color. You can give me the chrome trim if you don't want it. My J20 would look great in two colors.
Gray looks great on new small cars, but on a truck it will look like a shiny mil truck IMO. Navy gray.
I'd also think about whether you want the modern gloss (current BC/CC paint) or period gloss (acrylic enamel).
