Who makes a replacement bumper for a J truck

I posted this in the "Wanted section" but struck out. I've got a friend with a J20 that needs a steel rear bumper. The truck is in decent shape for a farm truck but the exhaust was ran out under the rear bumper and has devoured it with rust. Since he uses it for pulling a hay trailer he wants a good steel bumper to go back on it. Does anyone make a replacement bumper that will work on a J truck or does anyone have a good used one?

When I was in the Army, the rear bumpers for the M-880 (Dodge 1 ton pickup) were lousy!
We were sent replacement step bumpers and they were of a Chevy Design.
They had the mounts relocated to fit the Dodge frame.
They looked and worked well, much better than the stock bumpers.

I would suggest looking at other bumpers not made for a Jeep, then have a weld shop relocate the brackets.

BJ's has one that I know of, might be worth a look. Otherwise, have a welding shop duplicate the original.

You got a few choices:

BJ's for aftermarket type

Make your own out of steel stock

A universal step bumper modified to fit

A stock type from another J-truck or make- I've found out the step bumper on later J-trucks was a universal blank that was cut and fit for Jeep, Ford, Chevy, and Dodge trucks. Since these trucks are wider than a J-truck, you can get one and cut and reweld the ends and bracketry to attach to the Jeep. I never knew this until I was poking around a wrecking yard one day.
