Last year I installed Rocklaurence's FSSR kit. Then after putting new springs on it, I've found that the front driveshaft can fall out if I flex it really good. So, since I need a new driveshaft, I've decided it's time to upgrade my 258 to a 4.0 and add a gear at the same time
I've recently sourced a '98 4.0 and '93 AW4 with all appropriate harnesses and computers. Today I am cleaning the engine and replacing seals while it is on a stand. Tomorrow I hope to put it in my Wagoneer.
The search button has helped me quite a bit and I think I'm prepared for most of the conversion (hydroboost, spacer/clocking ring, etc.), but a few issues don't seem to have definitive answers.
1. Has anyone had success reusing the 727 shifter linkage? How about a shifting cable from Lokar? https://www.summitracing.com/parts/lok-aca-1804
2. Is there an adapter or easy way to reuse my original snorkel style air filter? If not, what is everyone using?
