Voodoo 704, in 401 j10, anyone used this cam?

Crashed my 401 gremlin . I'm now 61. No more street racing have as 82 jeep J10, 727, 360, 3.55 geared ,with 32s.
Will the stock drivetrain
Hold up to a 450-500Hp 401?
It's a torque little engine
Think it would be fun in my farm truck.
My cam now is a reed custom solid, 20year old,
250ish dur @ .050.
.590ish lift. Tight lash series, .014
With 3.73s, T10, in a gremlin, pulled HARD from 2500-6500rpm.
I'm thinking my 5200lb truck, with 3.55s and 32s, might need a different cam?
I don't want to give up HP, unless it a tradeoff for more TQ.
The lunati voodoo 704 looks good on paper, and is slightly smaller than mine.
I've used the voodoo series in several different engines with great feedback.
Anyone used the 704 in a 401 ?
I'm, 10-to1comp, ported cast heads,offey 360 intake(replacing it with a air gap),
750(800),AED Holley, coated 1-3/4 headers, into 3in exhaust.
I don't expect to turn 6500rpm anymore, 5500 would be fine?
Too old to street race going have some fun off road, and the occasional
Red light reaction time contest!
Thanks

may need to put a bolt in sprag and heavier clutch packs in the 727,otherwise the transfer case will be the weakest link and theyre pretty tough.

id keep the offy intake. equaflow right? my favorite amc intake.

You should change the cam, go smaller, less duration if you plan on using in your truck. you will really need a good torque cam in there with some midrange to make it work well.

I have this cam in my Cherokee. It has been great. It runs so well from 1500. If you are wanting more off idle, you should look at something smaller.

Here is my dyno thread.

Yes, equalflow it was a top dog 20 years ago.

I've used that 702 in a Pontiac, and it was a tq monster but ran out of steam too soon?
Nice looking tq curve on dino. But I'm looking for more HP, around 500+.
I may be the ginny pig and try one?
Thing I'll crank it up with what's in it now, just too see how it acts with too large of cam?

I'm considering Rhoads V-max adjustable lifter to tame my cam a bit?
Anyone done this?
They also have a super lube feature to keep lobe wet!

I ran max lifters worked great. But oil pressure was lower.

I've ordered the V-max lifters.
Going to run them on my (too big) reed cam, set at max lash, should tame
It down a bit, I also advanced it 2deg.
Probably go down (shorter) in tire size, I have 2 sets of wheels, I for street, and 1 off road.

They will. I ran mine on a summit 8601 cam, ran like a performer grind in low end and revved good and hard . Your idle oil pressure will be low, and will take a bit more rpm to reach max pressure .

I've drove a AMC since 1975.
I'm used to low oil pressure, at idle!

I figure the 2deg key now makes it straight up? Chain has 20k miles on it, and a tiny bit of stretch!

probably pretty close. did you degree the cam on install?

to the OP i ran the little voodoo cam, it was ground over 10 degrees off. i was very disappointed in the quality. the little voodoo cam had nothing over the cheap engle performer clone cams i ran. and those were always ground right on.

I've long lost the cam card! But I decreed it when I built it 20 years back with a new tight chain.
