    Plug change for new guys

For the newer guys, I got a few tips for changing out your spark plugs that I only recently found myself.

plug #7 - use a swivel joint at the base of the socket and run as many extensions as you can find. route the extensions through the brake line loops on the inner fender and connect you ratchet on the other side. This will give you a good angle on the swivel joint and all the space in the world for your ratchet.

plug #'s 8 and 6 - Use your socket connected straight to your ratchet and crawl behind the pass side tire. You can fit your arm through the inner wheel well and the engine compartment and get to your plugs from there a lot easier then you can from up top. It's also a lot easier to remove and replace your plug boots from under there.

I know this may seem like common knowledge to most people but I only discovered this today. I guess I was always so focused on the job at hand that I never thought "there has to be another way". I've been busting my knuckles and creating new 4 letter words for 2 years because of this .

Don't be like me, think differently and save your knuckles .

ive tried to get them from the top, i cant do it. i can only get the front two on either side, then i climb underneath. when i was 15 and a friend was teaching me how to tune up the car, he did my plugs and did all of them from the top with just different combonations of an ext. and a swivel. now that i go back to do it i have no idea how he ever could have done that.

If you think these are fun try a 67 Mustang with a big block in it!

I have a set of 30* swivle extentions 3"-12", and do all the plugs on all my rigs from the top. I have everything from an emitioned '88 GW to a bare '77 j-10. The 4 together (3,4,6,&12") are GREAT for reaching that top starter bolt or the top tranny bolts from behind the t-case.
