Window Belt Name?

Hey All,

I don't know what the name of the white plastic like belt with teeth is that slides along the rail to move the window up and down inside my driver door.

A little while ago I went to use my electric windows and the window wouldn't go up all the way....I manually forced it up then got home and looked inside and realized that white belt with teeth had broken in the middle. I was able to manually push the belt until it caught while rolling up the window but now I cant roll my window down more than a quarter of the way.

Wondering what that part if called and where I can get another one. I called the local Jeep Dealership arts department and he said they don't have it.

Thanks

Agreed...

do NOT buy flextracks from your local parts store, use BJ's or TGW or fleabay. the parts store ones are brittle and fail quickly

BTW... you will need a torx screwdriver set to change it - cheap on amazon or harbor freight

It's pretty easy, it just slides on a track and bolts on. Once you do it once, you'll see.

Here's a video.

In 1987, Road and Track called the Grand Wagoneer "one of the most capable off-roaders going" and "a first-rate off-roader and inclement weather vehicle AMC has honed close to perfection." It also called the interior "truly grand."

It is a PIA the first time.
You don't have what year your rig is. There was a change somewhere after '85. If you have the older style, you'll need the other parts to switch to the newer style.

Do the rear doors use the same thing? I was about to buy one for my front door and thought I needed one for my back rear passenger side also...but now Im thinking that maybe it doesn't use the same parts....unfortunartely my jeep is in the shop all week getting the lifters replaced so I cant look inside the door to confirm or deny

Been a while since I did mine but I believe the difference is pass/driver-side rather than front/rear. All four are the same length but the mounting hardware is reversed for pass/driver side.
